Well, I am fascinated with and addicted to machinery ever since I was a little kid. In fact, I am pretty sure I would not have been sure that studying mechanical engineering is the right thing for me if it wouldn't open the possibility to one day actually design heavy machinery. When I was in New Zealand, I almost took as many photos of the extraordinary machinery there as I took of the one-of-a-kind landscape. When the internet was still wet behind its ears, I had a small bookmark list (Netscape 4.0 ruled the www back then!). After a while I started thinking: Hey, wouldn't it be cool to have a small explaining picture, and a description of the site along with the link? So I started to do exactly that in HTML. From that small beginnings, I created a rather large collection. Today I rarely find the time to work on this site and it is completely written in german.
