My homepage or "You're so vein"
The task of jensroesner.de until 2004 and jr-worldwi.de since 2004 is to bundle all my activities into one gateway, as my various "main" pages are distributed across different servers. Secondly, some topics I would like to showcase are not worth a separate homepage, one single pages is often sufficient.
I also like to play with different styling variations. My "old" page jensroesner.de was heavily based on JavaScripts, both downloaded&adapted as well as completely written by myself. I took this concept and built upon it a framed monster that can be found at jensroesner.de/nz/, describing my stay in New Zealand.
I now have a much more basic concept starting in 2004. Instead of frames, tables are used and of course the colour has changed. Or, to say it more clearly: It isn't grayscale anymore.
Still, the colour scheme is rather limited. I don't like flashing and blinking eye-hurting colours. To enrich this page, I instead use graphics of mechanical components and assemblies. The underlying 3D-CAD models are created with SolidWorks (It pays to work at university!). The screenshot is then edited with a very old version of Paint Shop Pro (anyone remember version 5?) by multiplying a colour layer with the greyscale layer from SolidWorks. Saved as a png, these components visually help to hold the text of this page. At least I hope so ;) If you like it, I am happy, but please don't steal my content. And while we are talking about that stuff, I should also mention that I cannot take responsibility for the contents of sites I am linking to. The rule of thumb is: If my HTML code opens a link in another window, it is outside of my responsibility. I probably should say that in German, too. Excuse me for a while.
Ok, back to english. Hm, not much more to say. Except: Enjoy your trip!
